Health & Safety
Our Health & Safety Focus
PTL’s Health & Safety Policy states that it “must ensure that it protects its employees, the environment, and the public by working safely and responsibly in all aspects of its business.” Our personnel are carefully chosen professionals trained to perform tasks efficiently and safely according to practices and procedures outlined in our Health and Safety Manual and in compliance with OH&S Legislation.
PTL is a member of the ACSA (Alberta Construction Safety Association) and a SECOR holder (Small Employer Certificate of Recognition). We take safety very seriously and strive daily for zero accidents and injuries. Management and staff work with our Health & Safety Administrator to continuously monitor and maintain all aspects of our Health & Safety Program; we complete hazard assessments, pre-start checklists, log books, near miss reports, root cause analysis, incident investigations, workplace and jobsite inspections, regular safety meetings, and monthly as well as yearly summary reports. Our equipment and trucks are diligently maintained and our down time due to break-downs is rare. In-depth evaluations of our processes are performed yearly and reviewed by the ASCA for compliance with the SECOR program.
