PTL’s humble beginnings were in 1984 when Cliff and his father, Albert formed Payot Trenching & Sanitation in Whitewood, Saskatchewan. Five years later, declining economic conditions in the region led Cliff to Provost, Alberta where the unmistakable potential for prosperity offered by the booming oilfield industry was attracting many young entrepreneurs and their families.

It was in Provost that Cliff then formed Payot Trenching Ltd. and years later, in 2007, Cliff and Elaine created a spin-off of PTL called Home On The Range RV Park.

As president of PTL, Cliff set out to build an underground utility and pipeline installation company that could perform quality work while using alternative methods to minimize ground disturbance and maximize environmental protection. Today, after more than 30 years in the industry, Cliff’s success in achieving his goal is evidenced by PTL’s solid reputation and strong customer base.
